- Bio: Allen E. Peterson was born in Monango, ND. December 6, 1928. Died March 17, 2008. Donna May (Grund) Peterson was born in Fargo, ND May 26, 1932. Died July 3, 2017. They resided in Lake Havasu, Arizona at the time of their deaths.
- Allen (Pete) as he was well known farmed in Monango, ND. until he enlisted in the Navy on December 6, 1945 during World War II. He was a salesman for Ashland Oil for 25 years, retiring in Lake Havasu, Arizona in 1976. He was a proud life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and served as Commander of VFW Post 1874 in Grand Forks, ND. He was a loyal member of the America Legion for 59 years and Elks Club for 47 years. He served as Cooties’ State Commander also.
- Donna was educated in Fargo, ND. She and Allen married in Fargo, ND on July 15, 1950. They spent 58 years together. They raised 2 sons and 2 daughters in Grand Forks, ND. Donna was a wonderful busy mom. She was a fantastic cook, seamstress, decorator and hostess. She worked outside her home also. She held it all together for her family.
- Their life together was fun and challenging. They loved family, friends, and neighbors. You could count on them for anything.
- They enjoyed bowling, golfing, camping, hunting, fishing, and many lake activities. They traveled together with friends. Vacations were the best and many memories were made.
- They took care of each other during their retirement years. Allen became ill so Donna was his caregiver until he passed in 2008. She lived in her home independently until she passed in 2017.
- They are survived by their children, Debbie Peterson, Fargo ND, Wayne (Solita) Peterson, Andover, MN. Gary (Karla) Peterson, Wautoma, WI, and Vickie (Don) Baker, Elizabethtown, PA. 11 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
- They were together in life in all ways possible and will now be laid to rest in peace together on Oct. 15, 2019 at Fargo National Cemetery, 8709 40th Ave. N. County 20, Harwood, ND. Military honors provided by American Legion. Pastor Tim Stoa officiating committal. All friends and family are welcome to attend.
