- Bio: Loyd B. Larson was born June 7, 1911 in Montgomery County, Iowa, the son of Lew and Lilly Faye Thorson Larson.
He died at Rosary Hospital in Corning, Iowa, Friday morning, March 13, 1981, after a lingering illness.
On August 9, 1933, he was married to Charlotte Pattison, who survives.
Mr. and Mrs. Larson farmed in Adams and Montgomery Counties until 1956 when they moved to Oregon. In 1961, they moved to Minnesota where they operated a dairy farm in West Concord and North Home until moving back to Villisca to retire in 1976.
Besides his wife of the home, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Lyall (Nickie) Gage, Villisca and Mrs. Francis (Linda) McGrath, Gulf Port, Mississipp. sisters are Mrs. Earl (Berniece) Marsh and Mrs Neal (Florence) Means of Villisca. Gerald Larson of Red Oak is a brother. Grandchildren are Kenneth Gage, Karen Taylor and husband Roy, Kent Gage, Dwayne, Danita, and Dennis McGrath. There is one great grandchild, Bobbie Lee Taylor and nieces and nephews.
Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one granddaughter.
Services were held Monday, March 16, 1981, at the Wolfe Funeral Home in Villisca, Iowa with the Rev. Alfred Hunter officiating.
Martin Hentsch was the organist and at the register was Carolyn Carter. Flower bearers were Fran Carmichael and Peggy Danielson.
Casket bearers were Leland Carmichael, Leonard Danielson, Ronald Cooper, Stan Carmichael, Dwaine Cooper, and Ronald Jackson.
Burial was in the Arlington Cemetery, near Villisca, Iowa.
