- Bio: Charlotte Nora Lucille Larson, of Thor, passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2006, at Rotary Ann Nursing Home in Eagle Grove at the age 91 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Nels and Louise Larson, and brothers, Lloyd and Everett Larson of Thor.Funeral services will be held Friday, December 15, 2006, 2:00 p.m. at the Ullensvang Lutheran Church in Thor with Rev. H.W. Schiller officiating. Visitation will be Friday, 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in the East Ullensbang Cemetery in Thor. Charlotte, the daughter of Nels and Louise (Sheldon) Larson, was born April 30, 1915, in Eagle Grove, Iowa. She attended Thor Public School and graduated from Eagle Grove High School and Eagle Grove Junior College.Charlotte was employed as manager of the Thor Branch of the Humboldt Trust and Savings Bank in Thor.Charlotte was baptized, confirmed and an active member of the Ullensvang Lutheran Church in Thor, where for many years she taught Sunday school, sang and accompanied church choirs and smaller groups and held offices in the Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church.Charlotte is survived by cousins, Lorelle Vorrie (Betty) of Fort Dodge and family, Marlys Fischer (Merlin) of Thor and family, Vergil Jacobson of Eagle Grove and family, Raanhild Sheie of Fair Lane, N.J. and Ruth Sorensen (David) of Glen Rock, N.J. and family and other relatives in Norway.Charlotte was a very special person, who was devoted to her family, church, friends and community, always willingly and generously sharing her time and talent with many church and community organizations and activities. After her retirement, she enjoyed traveling with friends Marion Jensen of Fort Dodge and Agnes Orsland of Des Moines on various trips throughout the United States. Because she lived her entire life on the family farm and in the Thor community, she will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege to know her.
