    • Britton - The funeral for Clara Christopherson will be 2 Saturday, Jan. 22, 2005, at Highlanda Lutheran Church of Langford; Rev. Jeff Redlin officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be noon to 7 p.m. Friday at the Price Funeral Chapel, Britton, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., and one hour preceding the funeral at the church on Saturday. Clara died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2005, at Wheatcrest Hills in Britton, at the age of 98. Clara P. Gunderson was born July 16, 1906, on a farm east of Pierpont, S.D., to Lars and Ellen Marie (Medhaug) Gunderson. She was baptized and confirmed at the Skudesnes Lutheran Church of rural Pierpont. She attended rural schools, and Britton and Pierpont High Schools. After graduation, Clara worked for a few years in Aberdeen. On Feb. 22, 1933, she married Eric Christopherson at Crisco, Iowa. They farmed southeast of Britton for a few years, before moving to a farm in the Langford area. They farmed there for the next 46 years. She worked for Dakotah in Pierpont and Langford for over 20 years, making quilts. In 1980, they moved to Britton. Eric died March 21, 1983, and Clara continued to make her home in Britton. She entered Wheatcrest Hills in September of 1999, and has resided there since that time. Clara was a longtime member of the Highlanda Lutheran Church, active in the Ladies Aid, and other church functions. She belonged to the Sons of Norway in Webster, and the Britton Senior Citizens. She enjoyed reading and watching television, and especially her grandchildren. Clara loved her years on the farm. She was an excellent cook and baker. Clara is survived by two sons and a daughter: Erman (Alice) Christofferson of Galena, Mo., Anneta (Samie) Skjonsberg of Britton, Norman (Sheila) Christofferson of Britton; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers and three sisters. Casketbearers will be Erman Christofferson Jr., Jason Christofferson, Bardie Skjonsberg, Rueben Tom, Phillip Tom and Roger Tom. Honorary casketbearers will be all of her grandchildren.
