Ervin E. "Jug" Dyrland, 66, of 3243 Locust Ave. died Saturday at his home. He was born Aug. 15, 1933, in Bellingham. Mr. Dyrland worked for the U.S. Postal Service, Georgia-Pacific Corp. and Sumas Transportation Inc. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and was a member of the Bellingham Sportsmen's Club.
- His sister, Jean Fox, died earlier. Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Mary, of the family home; three sons, David, Jack and Erik, of Bellingham; a daughter, Joyce Bouma, of Bellingham; his mother, Tillie Sestrom, of Bellingham; six grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
- Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Greenacres Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be from 7 to 9 tonight at Westford Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Mount Baker Kidney Foundation, 3201 Ellis St., Bellingham, WA 98225, or the American Diabetes Association, 2109 19th St., Everett, WA 98201.
