- William Collins of Big Sandy is Buried on Sunday
- William E. Collins, for the last five years county commissioner of Chouteau county, was laid to rest in the Big Sandy cemetery Sunday afternoon following funeral services at the Big Sandy community hall. These funeral rites brought the largest audience in the history of a funeral in Big Sandy as several hundred came to pay their last tribute to the man who died Aug. 20 from injuries received in an auto accident Aug. 19, when he suffered a skull fracture. Pallbearers were old time friends of the man who had lived 23 years in that community.
- William Collins was born in Tampico, Ill., Oct. 15, 1880. He was married at Pipestone, Minn., to Mae Hurst. Four children were born to them, three surviving, Robert of San Bruno, Calif., Verla Parsley, of Big Sandy, and Betty, Big Sandy. In addition to his widow and three children he is survived by a sister in Aurora, Ill., and two brothers, Frank of Tampico, Ill., and Fred of Big Sandy; and by three grandchildren.
