- Bio: Leonard A. Booth, 92, of Boise, formerly of Parma, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2007 at home of natural causes with his loving family at his side. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 8 at Dakan Funeral Chapel, Parma with burial to follow at Parma Cemetery. Friends may view at Dakan Chapel, Parma, from 9 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Leonard was born Aug. 25, 1915 to George and Martha Nelson Booth at Braddish Boone, Neb. He was raised and educated in Nebraska before joining the U.S. Army. He served his country in the Philippines during W.W. II from which he received an Honorable Discharge. After the war, Leonard joined his family in Idaho where he met Lorene Canfield. They were married on Aug. 7, 1949 at Parma and together they raised four daughters. Leonard worked for the Notus-Parma Highway District for 27 years. He enjoyed working in the yard, working on cars and spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters. There has never been a more caring, gracious father and grandfather on this earth. He never asked for anything, but deserved everything. He always knew what was important and always took care of his family. Leonard is survived by three daughters, Marva Jane Kelley, Janice Marie McKie and Joni Irene Booth; and two granddaughters, Hayley and Allyson McKie, all of Boise. He is preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Lorene Canfield Booth; a daughter, Jolene Kaye Booth; his parents; and 11 brothers and sisters. The family would like to thank the caregivers for their compassionate care of Daddy.
