- Bio: Allen H. Blooflat, 61, of Bemidji, died Monday at his home. Funeral services were at First Lutheran Church. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Mr. Blooflat was born June 21, 1927, at Montevideo to Archie and Henrietta Blooflat. He came to Bemidji in 1941 and graduated from Bemidji High School in 1946. He worked for Merchants Mayflower Moving and Storage until 1955, when he started the Bemidji Transfer and Storage Co. He sold the company in 1966, then started classes at Bemidji State University, graduating in 1970. He worked at the Beltrami County Food Stamp office from 1970-1972, then began teaching. He continued to teach, primarily as a substitute, until 1980. He was a member of First Lutheran Church and the board of Pathways Lutheran Camp Corp., and a church youth coordinator for many years. He is survived by his wife; three sons, Allen Jr. of Anchorage, AK, and Daniel and Todd, both of Bemidji; two daughters, Bonnie Blooflat and Kathy (Ed) Satko, both of Bemidji; five grandchildren; a sister, Louise Anderson of Bemidji; three brothers, Archie Jr. of Cottage Grove, Lowell of Solway and Donald of Bagley; and 15 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother. (Bemidji Pioneer Aug. 9, 1988)
