- Bio: Ed Sherick was the youngest of eight children born to Daniel Sherick and Laura Belle McKay. Siblings were: Lee, Edna, Grace, Josie, Della S, Charles William, and Dottie May Sherick, He married Annie Jo Shipp in 1920, the daughter of Arthur Walter Shipp and Sarah Jane Coleman of Albertville, Alabama. Ed served in the US Navy in World War I. He was a life time member of the Leyden-Chiles- Wickersham Post 1 of the American Legion, visiting local schools to demonstrate proper respect for, proper display of, and handling the flag. His occupation was a US Mail delivery man. He retired on July 1, 1962. Sherick, 63, of 1439 So Pennsylvania, who died Monday in his home. Cremation was at Fairmount. Sherick was assistant adjutant of Leyden-Chilres-Wickersham Post No 1 of the American Legion. He was born Nov 19, 1898, in Golden Colo. His parents Mr. and Mrs. Daniel E. Sherick were one of Golden's pioneer families. Sherick came to Denver 45 yers ago and married the former Annie Jo Shipp Dec 24, 1920. He served with the U S Navy in World War I. His services in Fort Logan National Cemetery included military honors. Surviving are his wife; a son, Albert M Sherick, Ames, Iowa; a daguther, Mrs virginia Key of Torrance Calif; a sister Mrs Josie Linens, Portland, Ore, and six grandchildren.
